Great River Energy plants achieve 2 million hours of no lost time accidents

Elk River, April 17, 2000 - On April 1, Great River Energy’s employees at Elk River Station, Elk River, Minnesota; Stanton Station, Stanton, North Dakota; and Coal Creek Station, Underwood, North Dakota achieved a combined total of 2 million hours of no lost time accidents.

“I want to personally thank the employees of Elk River, Stanton and Coal Creek Stations for your individual efforts in working safely to contribute to this milestone,” said Gordy Westerlind, Great River Energy vice president of generation. “Because you conscientiously plan your work tasks carefully, attend safety training, and practice safe work habits, this milestone was accomplished.”

Stanton Station personnel have worked 1,329,493 personnel hours in 3,047 days without a lost time accident to help achieve this record. Elk River Station employees have worked 102,431 personnel hours in 796-day streak and Coal Creek Station employees have achieved 568,226 personnel hours in 482 days without a lost time accident. There are 331 employees working at the three plants.
