Great River Energy plans dedication of Pleasant Valley Station

Mower County, MN (July 20, 2001) - Great River Energy will dedicate its Pleasant Valley Station power plant at a celebration to be held August 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the plant site near Dexter. The public is invited to attend the celebration and lunch.

The dedication will include a short program beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon and tours of the plant will be offered from noon until 2 p.m. There will be balloons for children and a commemorative gift for all guests.

The general public is asked to enter the plant site at its east gate. There will be parking available inside the east gate. Great River Energy recommends guests wear sturdy shoes to traverse the graveled site.

Also attending the celebration will be the Great River Energy board of directors and staff, its member system directors as well as local and state government officials, and construction representatives from as far away as Germany.
