Land Rights Specialist(Land Title Research & Permitting)

We are currently recruiting for a Land Rights Specialist to prepare and secure permits, land title information and other documents relating to easement acquisition, sale or transfer of GRE properties and rights of way. Main responsibilities include: • Identify and secure needed project permits for transmission, generation and communication facilities. • Research court records and other related land records to obtain land ownership and to determine vesting and property interests for project notification, project data bases, tree clearing activities, condemnation actions and for the preparation of easement acquisition documents. • Identify and define property owner, permit and easement locations on new and existing plan and profile documents or other such line/location maps for use in securing permits, easements or other required land rights. • Assist with other land rights functions and departmental/cross departmental support as required to maintain efficient operations.
To qualify you must have: • Two year degree in business, real estate or a related field plus minimum of two years of title work experience. • • Knowledge and experience in title research. • Knowledge and experience in interpreting and writing legal descriptions. • Knowledge and experience interpreting surveys, survey notes and engineering drawings. • Knowledge of real estate law and governmental land use policies.
• Skill to use the Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
