Commercial & Industrial Energy Grant and Rebate

The Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Custom Energy Grant and Rebate programs provide cash incentives to qualified applicants for electric energy efficiency improvements, audits and engineering design assistance for new and existing facilities. Grants and rebates are available to Great River Energy member cooperatives’ new and existing commercial and industrial retail electric customers, including businesses, industrial and process plants, schools, institutions, farms and local governments.

Project Eligibility

Grant and rebate funds are available for, but not limited to, the following types of energy efficient electric equipment:

  • Lighting
  • Motors
  • Adjustable speed drives
  • Compressed air systems
  • Refrigeration
  • HVAC
  • Beverage machine controllers
  • Dairy equipment such as well water pre-cooler and waste heat exchangers.

Where applicable, we recommend using ENERGY STAR® qualified products. For current product listing and criteria, see www.energystar.gov.

Other project eligibility requirements include:

  • Backup generator and power factor correction projects are not eligible.
  • Equipment installed to improve energy efficiency must maintain a minimum power factor of 90 percent.
  • Individual member cooperatives may have minimum total harmonic distortion (THD) requirements.
