Great River Energy’s Split Rock Energy ceases trading operations

Elk River, Minn. – The Split Rock Energy board of governors has announced that Split Rock Energy’s energy trading operations have ceased as of Friday, November 10, 2006. Split Rock Energy is a wholly owned subsidiary of Great River Energy.

Split Rock Energy will continue to manage Great River Energy’s energy assets in the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator (Midwest ISO) market until those operations are consolidated into Great River Energy.

Great River Energy ( www.greatriverenergy.com) is a not-for-profit electric generation and transmission cooperative providing wholesale electric energy and related services to 28 distribution cooperatives in Minnesota and Wisconsin serving more than 600,000 members, or approximately 1.7 million people. Great River Energy is the second largest power supplier in Minnesota, in terms of generating capacity, and the fourth largest utility of its type in the United States.
